The Chair of Eastern European History (HHU Düsseldorf) is awarding a four-month scholarship for a study visit by students from Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf as part of the DAAD Eastern Partnerships program.

WHAT IT'S ABOUT

Students from the Faculty of History,  Political Science and International Relations at Yuriy Fedkovych Chernivtsi National University are offered the opportunity to spend four months at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, where they can take language courses, seminars, and lectures and learn about the work of the Department of Eastern European History.

WHAT WE OFFER 

The scholarship is endowed with €992 per month, plus a one-time mobility allowance of €350. The scholarship is limited to four months. Students can study in Düsseldorf between April and July 2026. They will be enrolled as students at HHU Düsseldorf, and their stay will be supervised by the contact persons at the Düsseldorf chair.

WHAT WE EXPECT 

The following is expected:

• Students are enrolled in one of the study programmes of the Faculty of History, Political Science and International Relations
• Excellent academic performance
• First international experiences
• Willingness to engage with an intercultural study environment
• English language skills (at least level B2)
• Knowledge of the German language is welcome, but not a prerequisite.

A committee consisting of staff members from both universities will decide on the selection of the scholarship recipient. Applicants will be informed of the result in writing, and a scholarship agreement will be concluded with the scholarship recipient. After completing the scholarship, a report on the experience (approximately three pages) must be submitted.
