Short-term Academic Exchange: Ongoing Recruitment at UKEN Kraków for Students, PhD Candidates and University Staff

We are pleased to announce that the Polish National Agency for Academic Exchange (NAWA) has, for the second time, awarded the University of the National Education Commission in Kraków (UKEN) funding for the implementation of the PROM – Short-Term Academic Exchange project, in the amount of PLN 958,375.00.

The PROM – Short-Term Academic Exchange programme enables students, PhD candidates, and university staff to acquire knowledge and skills in an international environment that can be applied at various stages of their professional careers.

The programme also supports Polish higher education institutions and research units in establishing and strengthening cooperation with foreign institutions.

Project Objectives

  • Development of the internationalisation of higher education and research institutions through short-term scholarship exchange
  • Development of competences of students, PhD candidates and academic staff from Poland and abroad through the implementation of short-term international scholarship mobility
  • Improvement of the quality of education through short-term mobility of students, PhD candidates and academic staff from Poland and abroad
  • Increase in the number of short-term mobilities implemented

Within the PROM programme, funding is provided for short-term mobilities aimed at enhancing the competences of students, PhD candidates and academic staff, including:

  • Active participation in an international conference: presentation, including poster sessions
  • Collecting materials for a doctoral dissertation or a scientific publication
  • Participation in a summer school or winter school
  • Conducting measurements using unique research equipment, testing research apparatus or unique artistic instruments
  • Participation in short-term educational activities, such as courses (including intensive courses recognised as part of the study programme), workshops, professional or industrial internships, study visits, including those hosted by enterprises
  • Conducting archival or library research
  • Teaching activities
  • Participation in the preparation of an international grant application

Scholarship-funded outgoing and incoming mobilities will last from 5 to 30 days.

The first recruitment stage is scheduled for 16 January 2026, with subsequent stages taking place monthly.
